Midlands Land-Based Training Centre Ltd is a company established by a collective of experienced land-based trainers and assessors, approved to register candidates with City & Guilds NPTC (National Proficiency Tests Council). Our primary role is to support individuals and organisations in achieving nationally recognised certification, ensuring compliance with current legislation, particularly in relation to health and safety and the safe use of land-based equipment and machinery.
We specialise in the registration and assessment of competencies across a range of operations, including pesticide application and the use of powered equipment such as mowers, brush cutters, hedge trimmers, and tractors. Our directors — Robin Ough, Christopher Murphy, and Jonathan Ensell — bring extensive industry, teaching, and assessing experience, ensuring a robust and supportive pathway to certification. Through independent, third-party assessment, we help candidates demonstrate competence, build confidence, and meet the legal requirements necessary to operate safely and professionally within the land-based sector.
